An original West German vase with a distinctive speckled glaze in shades of brown and ochre. The model, marked 308/11 on the base, features the characteristic bulbous shape with a narrow neck and black rim. The glaze gives the vase a vibrant, almost animal-fur-like appearance, typical of the experimental designs of the 1960s and 70s. A decorative piece of ceramic history – despite a small chip on the neck, it is ideally suited for collectors or as retro decor.

Historical background

"West German Pottery" refers to the popular ceramics produced in West Germany between the 1950s and 1970s. Well-known manufacturers such as Scheurich, Bay, Carstens, and Dümler & Breiden created distinctive shapes and glazes during this period, which are now collected worldwide. The stamp on the base (308/11) indicates the shape and serial number, making it easier for collectors to identify individual pieces.
