This vintage LP "Greatest Hits" by Vangelis was released in East Germany on the AMIGA label and compiles some of the best-known compositions by the Greek synthesizer pioneer. Vangelis was one of the most important figures in electronic music, combining orchestral soundscapes with atmospheric synthesizer sounds.
The album offers impressive instrumental pieces that oscillate between futuristic electronics and emotional depth – typical of the artist's signature style, who later achieved worldwide fame with soundtracks such as Blade Runner or Chariots of Fire .

Historical background:
Evángelos Odysséas Papathanassiou , or Vangelis for short, began his career in the 1960s with the band Aphrodite's Child before turning to electronic music. His solo works of the 1970s and 80s significantly shaped the aesthetics of analog synthesizer sound. The AMIGA release was licensed for the East German market and made Vangelis's work accessible to a broad Eastern European audience – an important document of cultural exchange during that era.
