An authentic piece of East German design history, both decorative and collectible.
Historical background
The Strehla Ceramics Works (founded in 1828, operated in the GDR as VEB Strehla Keramik) were among the most important producers of art and functional ceramics in East Germany. Particularly in the 1960s and 70s, they produced distinctive vases and bowls with intensely colored glazes. These ceramics are now sought-after collector's items and exemplify the design aesthetic of East German modernism.
