Historical background:
After Deep Purple's temporary breakup in 1976, Ian Paice and Jon Lord, along with the eccentric singer and keyboardist Tony Ashton, formed the band Paice Ashton Lord. Supported by Bernie Marsden (later of Whitesnake) and Paul Martinez , they recorded "Malice in Wonderland." The album is now considered a cult classic, as it was the band's only release and its blend of soul, rock, and funk is unique in rock history.
