Historical background

Following the sensational success of "Nur geträumt" (1982) and "99 Luftballons" (1983), Nena became an international pop icon. Her self-titled debut album is still considered a defining work of the Neue Deutsche Welle (NDW). The CBS pressing was the original West German release, distinguished by its rich sound and characteristic artwork featuring the band recording with a VW Beetle.
