With "Schweißperlen" (Pearls of Sweat), the Klaus Lage Band released their most successful album in 1984, scoring one of the biggest German rock hits of the 80s: "1000 und 1 Nacht (Zoom!)" . The LP combines catchy melodies, rocking guitar riffs, and socially relevant lyrics that enjoy cult status to this day. The album is considered a milestone in German-language rock and is among Klaus Lage's best-known releases.

Musically, Schweißperlen (Sweat Pearls) moves between rock, pop, and funk elements. Besides the smash hit, the album includes other tracks like Faust auf Faust (later also known as the theme music for the German crime series "Tatort") and Monopoli , which defined Lage's unmistakable style. This album finally brought the band their breakthrough in Germany, and it remains a classic of 80s rock music to this day.

Historical background
Klaus Lage was already known as a talented musician before "Schweißperlen" ( Bone of Sweat), but it was with this album that he established himself at the top of the German rock scene. At a time when the Neue Deutsche Welle (New German Wave) was slowly waning, he offered a powerful alternative: down-to-earth German-language rock with honest lyrics and danceable rhythms. "Schweißperlen" became a symbol of 1980s German-language pop culture and helped the Klaus Lage Band achieve sold-out tours and high chart success.
