Johnny "Guitar" Watson (1935–1996) was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter who began with blues in the 1950s but later influenced funk, soul, and disco. Known for his flamboyant style, humorous lyrics, and electrifying live performances, Watson is considered an influential figure in funk and R&B history. His music inspired numerous artists, from Frank Zappa to Snoop Dogg.
