This AMIGA licensed edition of Jennifer Rush 's debut album contains some of her biggest hits of the 80s, including "The Power of Love , " "Ring of Ice," and "Madonna's Eyes ." The album combines soulful pop with powerful vocals and a distinctive, slightly dramatic production—typical of the 1980s sound.
The East German edition was released in 1986 on the AMIGA label and was part of the cultural bridge between East and West. The simple, elegant cover design with the iconic dance pose makes this pressing a popular collector's item to this day.
Historical background:
Jennifer Rush , whose real name is Heidi Stern, was born in New York and initially launched her career in the USA before achieving her breakthrough in Germany. With "The Power of Love," she made music history in 1984 – the song was later covered worldwide by artists including Céline Dion. The AMIGA release was a licensed East German edition of a Western CBS recording and brought a touch of international pop glamour to East German record collections.
