The self-titled debut album by the British band Fox was released in 1975 on GTO Records and achieved great success in the British charts with the singles "Only You Can" and "Imagine Me, Imagine You" . The music ranges from catchy pop-rock and glam influences to slightly folky elements. The distinctive voice of singer Noosha Fox is characteristic and gives the album its unique character.
The original UK pressing offered here comes including the original printed inner sleeve with song lyrics – an authentic collector's item from the heyday of the 70s.
Historical background
While the Steve Miller Band shaped rock music in the USA, in England it was acts like Fox who caused a sensation with their distinctive pop-glam sound. The group was founded in 1974 by Kenny Young , an American songwriter who had previously worked with, among others , Clodagh Rodgers .
With Only You Can, the band reached number 3 in the British charts, followed by Imagine Me, Imagine You at number 15. Although Fox was only active for a few years and released a total of three studio albums ( Fox , Tails of Illusion (1975), Blue Hotel (1977)), the band is now considered an exciting example of the diversity of British pop in the 1970s.
