With "vun drinne noh drusse," BAP released one of their best-known albums – a blend of rock, Kölsch (Cologne dialect), and social realism that garnered significant attention in East Germany in 1982. Songs like "Kristallnaach , " "Wie 'ne Stein," and " Do kanns zaubere" made Wolfgang Niedecken's band a voice of West German rock with a point of view.
Historical background:
The original album was released in 1982 by EMI Electrola; the AMIGA licensed edition shown here officially brought West German Kölsch rock to East German record stores – a rare example of musical cultural exchange between East and West. Vun drinne noh drusse marked BAP's breakthrough and remains one of the most important German-language rock albums of the 1980s.
