Historical background
"Highway to Hell" was released in 1979 as AC/DC 's sixth studio album and is considered the work that definitively catapulted the band into the league of rock legends. It was also the last album with singer Bon Scott , whose energetic performance embodied the raw spirit of early AC/DC.
Produced by Robert John “Mutt” Lange, the album spawned classics such as “Highway to Hell”, “Girls Got Rhythm” and “Touch Too Much” – anthems that still define every rock stage today.
Australian pressings on Albert Productions are particularly sought after, as they reflect the band's original sound and authentic mastering.
