This vintage LP "Waterloo" by ABBA was released as an official licensed pressing on the Polish label Polskie Nagrania Muza (catalog number SX 1280). The album marks the international breakthrough of the Swedish pop group after they won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with the title track "Waterloo" .
ABBA's unmistakable sound, with its catchy harmonies, multi-part choruses, and perfect pop production, made them one of the most successful bands in music history. This Polish Muza pressing is considered a rare Eastern Bloc edition and represents the cultural opening of the time through music imports from the West.
Historical background:
ABBA – consisting of Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad – shaped international pop music in the 1970s like almost no other group. The album Waterloo is considered the beginning of their global career and includes early classics such as "Honey, Honey," "Hasta Mañana," and, of course, the winning song "Waterloo."
